Does anyone know how I can remove writing on my car. I have read that nail polish remover may work, but I’m scared to try it. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Nail polish remover dissolves the clear coat, (lacquer). Be very afraid. I recently removed a small smiley face some vandal decided should be on the hood of my car in a parking lot. Just used McGuires Tech car wax. Worked great.
