Please Help!!! I had a 70’s olive green gas cooktop and decided to paint it white. I purchased a high heat white spray paint for up to 1200 degrees and I messed up and didn’t read the whole lable. The lable states not meant for cooktops. Not to mention now I need a gloss clear coat so grease doesn’t stick to the surface. I found a high heat clear gloss coat for engines but it says the say thing about not recommended for cooktops. Am I going to catch my house on fire if I do it anyway?

You won’t have any fires but the paint is going to peel off and look like cr**.

      Time to replace the cooktop.

      It’s your only solution.
