paint thinner on countertop

I am edging out some paint next to a laminate countertop backsplash. A little paint got on the countertop and is now dry. Is paint thinner alright to use on a laminate countertop? Paint is latex.

I have used mineral spirits on my formica laminate counter many times with absolutely no ill effects. I recently painted my kitchen cabinets with oil based paint and I used this method to clean up edging “errors”. I did the clean up instantly and did not wait for the paint to dry. To be careful, I would try a “test clean up” on a piece of hidden counter top to be sure there are no adverse reactions.

Paint thinner will have absolutely no effect upon dried latex paint.

Try using products like ‘Goof-Off’ or ‘OOPs’.
