I have a 25 year old smoke dectector that was wired into the house- no battery. It started beeping intermittently today. I’m guessing the beeping means it’s dying? Since it’s wired into the house current, I’m wondering what to do with it. Is this type of dectector still available? Any advice on this would be welcome. Thanks!

yes they still make them.absolutly.some of the old ones had sensitivity adjustments on them.they also make combination hard wire with battery backup along with the regular battery operated.in our townhomes we like to have a combination of both types.
