We are building a new house and have selected limestone tiles for the flooring. Our contractor has told us that the tiles will be mudded directly to the slab. I have heard that tile should be installed over Hardi board. Which is correct?
I would do what the contractor recommends. Why would add something that is not needed. Only my thoughts. All my tile floors are mudded on to a slab. Twenty years plus.
