      I have granite countertops and the existing stovetop cutout is just a little smaller than the new standard stovetops.

      Is it possible to grind, saw, or sand away about a 1/2 inch more of the cutout? I don’t want to crack the countertop. Not sure what to do.

      I don’t know the answer, but if I were in your situation, I believe that I would call a firm that sells the countertops and ask them if and how your situation can be addressed.
