I just watched a home improvement show that was originally shown in 2007. The owner was installing a laminted floor that had attached to it as an underlayment, I guess, of cork. It was a snap on type and she was doing it into 2 different shades of brown for the kitchen. I tried looking for this type via google, but all that seems to show up is the usual laminated flooring that were about 8′ long. The one I saw was about half that size. Is there a particular name for this type of flooring? I would like to install it in my kitchen. Oh yes, if it makes any difference it was made to go directly over a concrete floor besides.

If the laminate flooring is going over concrete, it is best to seal the concrete to prevent moisture intrusion. A penetrating sealer will give a greater moisture protection.
