Kitchen Sprayer Hose

Okay I am stumped. I have replaced the kitchen sprayer hose 2 times now and still cannot figure out what I did wrong. Replace the hose and the sprayer head, but yet it still leaks from the head and once the water is turned off there is water in the head. So I turn the water off and press the release handle to get the remaning water out. Any suggestions

if water dribbles out of the sprayer when it isn’t being used then the diverter needs to be cleaned or replaced.
