My kitchen ceiling light has fixture with 2 60w bulbs, I would like to replace this with a fluorescent fixture with a total of 72w. will my 15Amp circut handle this change ?.
The reason for your old fixture being limited to two 60 watt bulbs is due to the design of your fixture. If greater wattage incandescent bulbs are used, the fixture may become overheated and damage the wiring insulation. It is unrelated to the breaker and wire size supplying the light.
