I have a series 80 Kenmore electric dryer that doesn’t want to shut off. The timer works and runs to the end of slected time, but won’t shut off. Model #66812694 and serial #MH2221722
Other than not shutting off the dryer runs fine.

Does the timer move *past* the off position? or just stall right *before* the off?
if you open the door while it is drying the dryer should stop.now close the door.does it start up again by itself?if it does then the push to start switch contacts have welded themselves together.
