Kenmore Electric dryer, Model series 69821/79821

we wired in a 220 outlet and put a new plug on this dryer we got with our place, tryed the dryer out and it runs but no heat, we had been told that the heating element was bad so we went and replaced that and still no heat, we took both the thermostats to a repair shop and had them tested and were told they were good and that it sounded like a 110/220 problem, like it was running on 110 and not getting 220 to the heater, so we took a multimeter to it and near as we could tell its getting 220 to the heater but its still not heating up? we were told the timer very rarely goes bad by several people but if that happened we wouldn’t get the 220 to the heater……is it possible we weren’t reading the meter right? reading read between 223 and 237, in that general area, plz help….this is starting to cost alot of money for an old dryer.

As I replied to your other forum message:

** Kenmore Electric dryer, Model series 69821/79821 **

Those are *parts* of 2 different dryer model numbers. You can read where to find the complete model number on your appliances at the following link:

      – Model Number Tag Search

** near as we could tell its getting 220 to the heater but its still not heating up? **

That is impossible if the heater is good. It must be being tested incorrectly.

You can read about possible causes for no heat in an electric dryer at the following link. Each would have to be tested for one at a times until the cause in your case is found.

      – Can anybody tell me the most likely scenarios for lack of heat in an electric dryer?
