      I have a Kenmore dryer model #11096272100. It became very noisy. I replaced the back felt seal, support rollers, idler pulley and drum belt. It still makes a lot of noise. The motor runs fairly quietly without drum installed. I make sure that the belt is in its former place and that the drum is resting on the rollers. What else could be wrong? I know that the plastic part on the motor that the idler pulley wheel rests on feels rough. Can that be replaced? One other question – the front plastic bearing came off and I’m not sure if it installs with the the lip facing out or in toward the drum. Which is it?

      What kind of noise exactly? Squeaking, squealing, thumping, etc.??

      I’m not sure what you’re describing. The idler pulley has its own bracket that clips onto the base of the dryer. It shouldn’t touch the motor.

      Isn’t it in two pieces? Try looking at the half that is still in place. Failing that, you can see a video of its installation at the following link:
