I have a very basic question – Should you peel the plastic backing of fiberglass roof shingles prior to installing them? It seems that the plastic is for shipping purposes but the salesman I purchased them from said they will eventually stick without peeling them. He also did not have the manuafactures’ directions.
Hi Tobia Yep, he’s correct….they will stick together without peeling off the plastic. Must be becuse the plastic eventually breaks down, because the roof I installed about 2 years ago with plastic strips in place, is truly …..stuck down!
