I am looking to build a storage loft in the back of my single car garage. Nothing fancy, it will just hold some seasonal items like lawn chairs and kids summer toys( nothing really heavy- except for me when I climb up there) so I am hoping to keep the cost down I want to make it across the entire width(span) which is 14 ft and probably a depth of 6 ft. The 2×4’s are all exposed..no drywall… Will I be ok with 2×8 ledgers along back and sides and two 2×8’s across front span? I am assuming I’ll also need two side posts against each wall? Any ideas would greatly be appreciated!
