My walk-in shower is new (within the past 6 months). Since shortly after first installing the tile, the grout has cracked in various places (mostly along seams). I keep replacing it and re-sealing it, but it continues to crack. Any ideas on what is causing this and how I can prevent it from happening again? Should I be mixing the grout with something special? Also, the areas that I caulk also have a problem, the caulk peels off. What could be be causing this? Thanks for any help.

The grout is cracking because the surface it is laid on has excessive deflection (its flexible). Can you describe more about the construction of the shower? Was a pre-fab shower pan used, and what material? Any chance the tile has a cement board backer? The problem that causes the grout to crack lies under the tile, and unfortunately, chances are the cure lies there as well.
