Like most of the areas around here, this summer was hot and extremely dry. I was wondering about the possibility of reusing laundry water to water the yard, garden and trees.

My thought was to buy a submersible sump pump and stick it in the laundry tub. When the washer empties, it fills the tub and the sump pump can direct it out through a house into the areas needing water.

      Brilliant or stupid?

I would try a little experiment first. Might kill something if they don’t like the detergent you use. If it is just rinse water ok I would think.

Water some of the grass, if it kills that forget it.

just my 2 cents thats all.
