I bought an old house and the register hole in the kitchen is 10X13. It looks like someone screwed up and made it too big. The current register is 10X12 so leaves a 1″ gap on one end. Is it possible to get a register that size? If not what is there to do? Maybe try to “shim” the hole to make it smaller?

You can get custom sizes made by Hart & Cooley through a supplier, adjust the hole as you suggested, or make the hole larger to accept a 10 x 14:

The Senate and House can not find a suitable health plan for the nation; they should open their own exclusive health plan booklet and start reading.
