I want to instal electric baseboards in my house. My contractor told me that low voltage thermostats are more precise than regular one working on 240 volts. But electric base boards with relay cost more, about 60$. Does it worth the extra cost ?
Your contractor is giving you a half baked story. An electronic low volt thermostat will be more precise than a mechanical 240V one but is that a revelation? If you compare an electronic 240V thermostat with an electronic low volt thermostat you won’t see a difference. 240V electronic/programmables can be somewhat more expensive due to the much lower sales volume.
