      I’m picking up and transporting a washing machine in a pick-up…I’m assuming I need to drain it before doing so. It will be coming home to be immediatley hooked up and put into operation.
      how do I drain the washer for transport?

      * Why does it have water? It should have emptied the water the last time it was used.
      * Method #1: Syphon the water out. Take a 5 ft length of garden hose, hold the ends together, fill the hose with water until you can see water on both ends, Cap off both ends with your thumbs, put one end in the washer tub the other in a bucket and release your thumbs.
      * Water should begin flowing out. If not, try it again until it does. The ends must be tightly sealed unti it’s time to let go!
      * Method #2: If it’s outside, tip it over…
      * Good luck… Adios… Jasper…

      If it won’t drain on its own, I would leave it alone and look for a properly operating machine.

      All washers have a gallon or two of water left in them, even after running through a cycle.
      Lowering the drain hose down to near floor level, the water will drain out on it’s own.
