Do you use your string trimmer (weedwacker) for edging

I just got a string trimmer.

I’ve been using it to remove grass that grows on the cracks on the cement. I notice that the weedwacker can chip the cement, small specks. But with continued use, I expect the damage to increase.

So, do you use a weedwacker on grass next to cement? Or is it just bad technique on my part.

My wife and I use a cordless 18v B&D to do touch up edging along the sidewalk. I have never noticed any chipping of the concrete.
If it is a problem for you, I would suggest using a vegetation killer to get rid of the grass.
