Dishwasher will not drain

After each wash cycle, my dishwasher does not seem to drain the excess water and it just sits at the bottom of the unit. I’ve looked to clear anything from the bottom that might be causing this, but to no avail. Anyone else had this problem before?

I’m afraid that is not enough information to identify the appliance in question. What is needed is its exact model number. If you post it we can at least look it up to see what appliance design you’re dealing with to try to offer suggestions.
