delta shower faucet repair

i am trying to replace the springs and seats in a delta “monitor” single handle faucet. how do i remove the stem to get to the valve?

Cap under the delta handle is locked into the pipe assy. Cannot turn. Is it advisable to apply heat with a torch to turn the cap. Using a wrench to turn has likelyhood of twisting the hot,cold and mixed water pipes that the faucet controls

The thing just pulls out cech out delta faucet model 2711 and that will lead to blowup of the guts.
