When our upstairs sink drains there is a clanking noise in the wall about 10 feet away behind the commode. It is rhythmic like a drip,starting fast then slowing, but too loud for it to be water dripping. Only happens with the sink. This is a full bath and nothingelse causes the sound.Suggestions?
* When the water leaves the sink, there is an air pressure, ahead of the water, that is normally vented to atmosphere.
* At times this pressure manefests itself by causing gurgling in toilets. As the pressure is released through the toilet you’ll hear the banging.
* Good luck… Adios… Jasper.
* Does this happen when the faucets are turned on?
* If so, this is a different matter. Shut the water off of the toilet(s) and then run the water in the sink.
* Does the hammering continue or stop?
* With hammering, the valve that controls the water that fills the tank is defective.
* Give us some feedback on this problem
* Good luck… Adios… Jasper…
