central air diffuser spring “Spring Air”

I have a round central air diffuser with a cone-shaped spring. The spring has broken and the diffuser is now not working properly. Does anyone know how I could fix the spring or where to buy a new one? I looked at home depot but did not see the same spring there.

The air diffuser is an aluminum round one in unpainted aluminum and the name on it is “Spring Air” and the logo has a flower over the i in “Air”. It is from the 1960s.

Try a “real” hardware store–they should have a proper spring. Alternatively, you could just replace the diffuser.
