ceiling on Victorian front porch

Currently ceiling is tung and groove and have 4 layers
of paint. We have power washed, scraped, chemically stripped
and can’t get the paint off without hurting our necks
and backs. We are thinking of installing a false ceiling
and wondered about tin panels. The ceiling is not exposed
to the elements directly but to New England temperatures.

Any ideas?
