      Nothing sticks to silicone except silicone, right?????
      When you Re caulk an area that previously had silicone laid, are you doomed to have to only use silicone? My understanding is that even when well cleaned, silicone leaves a residue (unless you use expensive special purpose silicone cleaner) that will not allow any other type of caulk to adhere to the surface. What’s the scoop.

      There is Xylene found in paint section of most hardware stores. This cleans of silicone. Then wipe down with dry cloth. This should allow you to use any caulk. Be sure to test the Xylene on a small area to make sure it doesn’t discolor. Not sure the surface your dealing with
