Breakers tripping in living room wall outlets only

After having my GFI outlet replaced recently I came home today to find that my breaker that controls the wall outlets to my living room had tripped. I unplugged everything one at a time to isolate which plug might be causing the breaker to trip. Now, with everything unplugged the breaker still will not reset, what could have caused the breaker to trip and now will not reset?

replace the Wall breaker or the GFI outlet . They have been known to go bad.
