We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen. We took down the old wall cabinets and noticed that the wall that they were hanging on is bowed out from a bowed 2×4.

We are thinking about taking down the old
drywall and hanging new. What is the best
way to fix the bowed 2×4?

      Thanks,
      Bill

If you are removing the drywall, it is usually simple to replace one bowed wall stud. Just cut it two at an angle with a sawzall and pull the two pieces out, toenail in your new stud.
