I have a fan in the main bathroom of my home but it is only a circulation fan. I want to replace it with a fan that will exhaust to the outside. I live in Canada so cold winter temperatures will be a factor. Is it best to vent it through the roof or through the soffits?

In Massachusetts (a freezing area), new construction typically uses the soffit route. You always risk leaks when going thru the roof, plus it’s more work. Just be sure the vent hose is as short as possible, plus doesn’t sag. Sags can collect water, which will then freeze. Good luck.
