Anyone have experience with RedGard on balconies or shower pan liners?

I’m finalizing the design for my shower floor and balcony floor.

I’m considering RedGard for the shower pan liner. All the ref’s I see look so good I’m worried they may be filled with hype.

Also need similar waterproofing for my outdoor balcony.

Both would be between mortar layers, as per recommendations. My ’tile’ friend says just use it under the tile, but I don’t quite trust that.

Is the stuff as good as they claim? Or have you had problems with it?

In the forums…….RedGard is often discussed for showers with high praise……But you need to know the details……
