Any harm in using lawnmower as a lawn vacuum

Leaves are falling.

I can use my blower to pile them up and bag them.

Or I can just run my lawnmower over the leaves. My lawnmowers can really suck, shread the leaves and put it in the bag.

I plan to do this until the leaves stops falling. The way I figure it, the lawnmower is no heavier than a lawn vacuum. I set the blade at the highest point so I am not cutting the grass. So there is no harm done.

Any thoughts.

I use the mower to shred and bag the leasves also. make a large pile in the conner of the rear yard, and have mulch in the spring.

I use mulching blades on my lawn tractor and mulch the leaves along with the grass. It puts the nutrients back into the lawn. I have one of the nicest lawns in the subdivision IMHO hahaha
