We have baseboard hot water heat and would like to add air conditioning. What is the easiest, not cost efficient way to add air conditioning?

I’m sure you have already thought about window units, but have you considered a ‘split system’? Check out: http://www.oldhouseweb.com/how-to-advice/ductless-split-system-air-conditioners.shtml

Window units are really the least expensive. Otherwise you have to do the Space Pak system, which is pretty expensive. Look for units that are as quiet and energy efficient as possible. Most of the new ones have temperature gauges so they turn on and off, versus the older ones where it was all on or off.One advantage is that it’s like zoned cooling. Just turn on the area you want cooled.
