      I noticed that my bathroom receptacle is only a 15 amp reptacacle on a 20 amp curcuit.Is this ok?

      Yes, the NEC allows it.

      In additions to the other’s comments, it may be possible to replace the fuse/breaker for that circuit with a 15 amp one although hair dryers and curling irons can draw close to the 15 amps them self.

      BTW. Is it a GFI outlet? If not, you might be able install a GFI breaker for protection on that whole circuit if you were interested in the added protection.

      I assume what you have is a 15A GFI outlet in your bathroom on a circuit that comes from a 20A breaker.

      Not safe.

      Best to follow Dan O’s advice and replace the breaker, or, verify the wiring is rated for 20A, and replace the GFI outlet with a 20A model.
