Anybody know if this device would work to run a 220 clothes dryer on two 110 outlets??

Electricity is not math, you can’t add voltage to the amount you want. 220v outlets use 110v from two seperate legs of your house current. 110v takes voltage from a single leg.

Simply what you ask can’t be done. A 220v outlet should have an independant circuit from the outlet to dedicated 220v circuit breaker. The breaker and wire both need to be sized as required for the appliance it is dedicated to.

      Hire a licensed electrician!

This very device was discussed a while back on a professional electrician’s forum, and there were many reasons cited as to why this device is very unsafe.
      Read this:

Hire an electrician to wire a proper 240V outlet.

      1. As Andy said, if you unplug one cord plug, the plug as you hold it in your hand will have 110 volts on one of the prongs! This comes through a feedback circuit from your appliance!
      2. All the device is doing is running wires from your power panel 220 volts to the device.
      3. The wires on yur standard outlet are not of the proper guage for a dryer. The extra current drawn could cause the wires to overheat possibly causing a fire.
      4. You may have to run a cord down the hall, up the stairs, accross to a bedroom and to the bathroom to find the outlet that has the other side of 220 volts.
      5. Again! Don’t do it!!!!!

Find out if the outlet wire goes directly into the panel. (Probably not) If it does then hook up the white and black to a 2 pole breaker. Wire should be 12gauge. If the wire doesn’t go into panel. You need to run a seperate line for the dryer.

Call an electrician if you’re not sure.
