* Does this happen when the faucets are turned on?
* If so, this is a different matter. Shut the water off of the toilet(s) and then run the water in the sink.
* Does the hammering continue or stop?
* With hammering, the valve that controls the water that fills the tank is defective.
* Give us some feedback on this problem
