To replace the wires on the switch you need a tool……A dental pick….a small awl……sometimes the probe on a VOM will work…..

The switch has a pressure strip that holds the wire in place……much like a backstabbed receptacle….

Insert the “tool” alongside the wire in the old switch and and remove the existing wire…then remove your tool….

To wire the NEW switch just push the wire into the opening…..the NEW cord needs the wire ends TINNED (coated with solder/heated) to stiffen them

“……measure Once…..cut Twice….
throw that one away and cut a new one….”
