That model uses an electronic control to moderate the fill water temperature. Even when set on “cold” the machine will cycle the hot water on and off to achieve a predetermined fill water temperature. On rinse, usually only cold water will be allowed to fill the machine.

So if the cold side of the water valve was not working (for whatever reason), the fill you’re seeing may be just from the hot water side of the fill valve.

If the cold side of the water valve is not being energized, there could be a problem in that ETC (see the following links), the sensor that detects the fill water temperature, the temperature selector switch or even a broken wire between them all… if the valve is definitely good.

You could also make sure there are no sediment screens in the cold water hose which might be plugged and that the tap for the cold water is turned ON and that it flows freely through the hose.
