I friend of mine is wanting to put vinyl siding on his house. He said he saw on on of the home remodeling shows where they were putting on a vinyl siding that resembled the log cabin look. He said they were even putting on insulation behind the siding that was curved to support the sidng. He has been searching to find out who sells this product. If you have heard of it and know who sells it we would like to know how to contact them. Thank-you

I have posted a couple of times in the past looking for the same thing. Other long standing posters at this site came up empty. If you find something, please post back and let us know.
Good Luck in your search!

Ronald and Dodgeman, I couldn’t find anything on Vinyl log siding, however there appears to be
lots of info for an laminate log siding with insulation underneath the laminate. So maybe this
is what you fellows are looking for? Check out these links to see if this fits the bill, Husky logs,
HeartWood, and Logside. Hopefully one of these
is what you’re looking for.

I have a 2-story log home that uses logs on the bottom and log-look wood siding on the top and dormers. The lovely caramel finish doesn’t hold up over about 3-4 years, and refinishing is very expensive. The dormers are already starting to turn dark, and my husband wants to put log-look vinyl siding over them and maybe eventually over the whole house to make it more maintenance-free. I’m concerned that it will look fake and will reduce the value of the home, and I wonder if a solid stain that covers the dark wood would be better. What do you think?
