I’m framing around a ventless fireplace. What is the distance that combustable material (wood mantel) has to be from the opening (top and sides) of the firebox?

Hi Andre,

It may be best to contact the mfgr. for info, or the local Municipal Inspector, or a fireplace Retailer.

Perhaps others can say. My best to ya and hope this helps.

I am having problems keeping the pilot light burning on my ventless fireplace. This started a few months ago by the pilot light shutting off and now it wont light. Have tried to get the repair man but after 2 months I give up.. Got any fixit ideas???

I have just bought a home with a ventless fireplace and when i turn it on it has a stong gas smell. I have call the local gas company and they check to see if there was any leaks and there not. He did say that it had a strong gas smell not just a burn off. Is there a way to repair this and if so how do I do this and how do you clean it.
