My home furnace is your standard gas type and is having a problem I hope you can help with. When the thermostat calls for heat, the pilot auto-ignites fine, then when the main burner is suppose to light, for some reason there is too much gas present and the ignition rattles the house a bit.

I know I had this problem at a previous home and eventually the flame from this ignition burns out a thermocouple. Unfortunatly, I can’t remember what the fix was.

I plan to have the unit services by a prefessional, but I would like to know what the cause is first.

      Thank You!
