Check later post on flooded basement. Get a relative meter and check. My bet is that the basement is still high moisture. Get enough dehumidification to maintain less than 50% RH. Check EPA’s energy star web site a listing for a powerful high eff dehu. Dry stops mold which generate odors.

Like grasshopper said you need to dry it out……

This was just clean rainwater and not some ejector/wastewater/graywater problem?

Any cardboard boxes that got wet need to be emptied/discarded and contents checked and dried….

      Old “dirty” carpet…..”wet”…..will always smell………

New carpet can be removed/cleaned and padding dried…………

Any drywall affected?………wet drywall and the captured water in the walls and insulation can really stink …….

Carpeting and sump pumps don’t mix…….
