I have a few doors that are very squeaky, What is the best way to fix this problem. If you could give a couple of ideas, that would be great! It would be nice for a clean solution instead of just greasing it up!

      Any thoughts would be appreciated!

      Thanks

pull out the door pin and put some lightweight household oil on the pin. wipe off excess(dripping). re-insert and no squeek.

I have found that bath soap makes a good clean lube for hinges. remove the hinge and clean with steel wool, then rub bar soap onto the hinge pin. Ivory or Dial are both good for this job, but any bar that is not too hard will work.

A quick fix is to spray the hinge knuckles with WD40. Doesn’t require hinge disassembly, isn’t oily, and dries clear.
