We recently replaced our light bulbs with the new energy efficient style. We have since noted that some of the switches make a crackling/popping noise when turning off the light. Could this be related to the bulb change? Is this something to worry about? Should we replace the switches (which are all probably original to the 20 yr old house)? Any advice is appreciated

CFL lights can be inductive and can cause an arc when opened. But a switch should not be affected by such a normal load.

      Replce the switch.
