I recently renovated my bathroom into a Japanese type with wooden floors and sunken bath. I intend to anti-water seal the floor with Thopmson’s water sealant. I’m also thinking of applying a sanding sealer to achieve a more finished look. Which sealant should go on first? Are there any other sealants that can be used that does not require sanding?

Thompsons Water Seal is intended for use on unfinished wood, but from what I have read it is not particularly effective for the long haul. For use as a bathroom floor, wood really needs to be finished with a product which creats a tough waterproof barrier such as polyurethane. Even with your best finishing efforts, wood is not the ideal flooring method for a bathroom.
