Rotten wood replacing around windows before painting…

When attempting to remove rotten wood around window for replacement, we stopped when it appeared we’d be causing the whole window to possibly fall out! How do you go about removing & reinstalling the wood that frames the window on the exterior before repainting?

is separate from the window. the window, most times is attached to the rough opening by itself …so you dont need to worry about the window coming or falling out from just ripping off the trip pieces to replace them…Just take a flat prybar and pry the trim pieces off…and cut and renail replacement pieces on …prime and paint. they are probably 1×4 or 1×3 inch trim boards correct? LJ
