I plan on making a dust collector (to filter the air) for my garage. Would it be better to have a filter on the side, top, and end or just one filter at one of these locations. I plan on building the box out of 3/4 inch plywood with a squirrel fan (from a old forced air furnace). The garage is 24′ x 24′. Do you have any plans or recommendations. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

Your description is inadequate to say whether “side, top or end” is the best location. If this is simply recirculating air in your garage, it really doesn’t matter since the same volume of air will pass the filter for any size fan. Another question is why? What’s the point? Is this for local dust collection of tools, or just ambient garage air?
