Generally, most modern ridge vent would not allow you to see light at the ridge. If you could see light, insects like bees or mammals like bats could touch you!

I don’t know of any r.v. that you can see through.

We bought a 76 yr old Brick Victorian, it has a walk up attic that is open studs, we would like to turn into a useable space, art studio and exercise room. This attic has 2 windows on each side of the space in the dormers, but it does not have a ridge vent. Do we need one?
