Gus, Asbestos can be legally removed by homeowners in most places but regulations do vary considerably. If you create hazardous or nuisance conditions as a result of improper methods you use, you could be held liable. I see nothing in your post that suggests you have the capability to do this project yourself. I recommend you call a licensed contractor before someone gets hurt.
