We live in a 1920’s home and are trying to remove old linoleum adhesive from a wood floor in a small bedroom.

We have removed the linoleum and tested for asbestos (just to be sure)….test came back negative for both adhesive and sheet vinyl.
Now we are left with adhesive on wood…I started using Murphy’s oil soap and it seems to work although it is an extremely slow process.

Any one have any other suggestions? My elderly Mom sleeps in the room next door and we really don’t want to use any harsh solvents.

If you have done this before and can offer any tips and direction we would greatly appreciate it.

      Thank you!!!

I am in the same situation. Had it tested and no asbestos, but really need an easy way to get this black stuff off the wood floor. If i come across something i’ll let you know. I just started with this project, and the only thing i know is it does not want to come off easy. Good luck
