Refinishing formica countertops

I need to replace the formica in almost all cabinets in my house but am not quite sure how to go about it.

Where can I turn for help.

Are you talking about the cabinets or counter tops?

May I suggest you post your question to the Handyman Forum of http://www.handymanwire.com (where I am a moderator). There are many pros and helpful people reading that forum and it will be easier to follow the responses than here.

We began to repaint the formica cabinets with paint from Home Depot especially made for formica. It said chip resistent. It took 4 coats to cover the formica, we did sand with fine sand as directed. Upon trying to rehang the doors, the paint began to chip and nick. Hubby now wants to get someone in to put new formica on. Isn’t that going to be expensive ?
